Oh dear candle,

how far you go?

When the dawn breaks,

so far away

that we forget.

 

I admire your fight

with every breath of air.

O! flickering flame of imperfection

still, you persist, with warmth

and with care.

 

Flickering yet unwavering,

fragile yet bright,

soft yet steadfast,

from your dim tender light,

and your fragile beauty,

you show that persistence lasts.
